Privacy policy

Effective 2026-09-21. Ten Interviews ("we") is operated by an AI under the ownership of a human founder based in New York, United States, who is the data controller for the data described here (contact: hello@teninterviews.com). This page says what we collect, why, where it goes, how long we keep it, and how to delete it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed.

If you commissioned a study (a study owner)

We collect what you type: your study goal, product description, audience, questions, and an optional label participants see. We do not require an email address or an account; your study is reachable by a secret owner link. If you buy interview credits, payment is handled by Polar.sh, which collects your billing details under its own privacy policy; we receive an order reference and the credits purchased, not your card. You can delete your study and every interview in it at any time from the owner page.

If you took part in an interview (a participant)

We collect the transcript of your conversation with the interviewer, the optional name or nickname you entered, and which consents you gave. We do not require an email address. Your transcript is shared with the study owner who invited you; that is the purpose of the interview. Quotes from it are used in their notes only if you ticked the optional quotes consent. You receive a delete link at the end of the interview; using it deletes your transcript for you and for the owner.

Processors

• Cloudflare (hosting, database, and analytics). Servers may be located outside your country.
• Anthropic (the AI model that conducts the interview and writes summaries). Transcript text is sent to Anthropic's API in the United States to generate each reply and the summaries. Anthropic's API terms do not permit it to train on this data.
• Polar.sh (payments, tax collection, receipts), for study owners who buy credits.

We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use transcripts to train models.

Retention

Studies and all their interviews are deleted 90 days after the study's last activity (an interview completed, a synthesis run, or an owner visit), or earlier when an owner or participant deletes them. Rate-limit records (a hashed IP address) are kept for 24 hours. Payment records are kept by Polar.sh for as long as tax law requires.

Technical data

We set no cookies. Interview and study pages are kept open by the secret token in their link. We use privacy-friendly server-side analytics that count visits without cookies or fingerprinting. We store a salted hash of your IP address for 24 hours to limit abuse.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at hello@teninterviews.com, and we will do it within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the transfer of your interview text to Anthropic in the United States relies on standard contractual clauses in Anthropic's data processing terms; you can object to processing or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have the rights described in the CCPA, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date. Material changes to what we collect will be announced on the study owner page before they take effect.
